Goldstone
Goldstone isn’t your typical type of gemstone because it’s man made. Some speculate it was discovered by accident when alchemists were trying to create manmade gold. Goldstone is made from brown glass with copper oxide added. It’s heated to a high temperature and when it cools the oxide changes into beautiful crystals that sparkle through the polished brown glass.
Goldstone has been around for centuries, at least since the time of the European renaissance period.
The hardness value is 5.5.
Goldstone isn’t a birthstone, it doesn’t currently represent an astrological sign and it’s not used as an anniversary stone.
Goldstone is said to be an uplifting stone, which helps reduce tension. It is believed helpful in securing love, protection, riches and inspired diplomacy. It’s further believed to attract positive energies.
Some use it medicinally for tissue regeneration, improved blood circulation, improving the metabolism, strengthening the nervous system and healing infections. Because of the copper content, it’s been used to decrease the pain of arthritis and rheumatism. It’s believed to be helpful for stomach tension. In addition it’s been said goldstone will purify and energize. Perhaps the most interesting use for goldstone is for personal illumination.
